can't post on both blogspot and xanga anymore. not enough time in the day. so, i've decided to use my xanga primarily. =( i actually like blogspot better, for many reasons, but since the majority is with xanga i'm gonna go with them...but i'm not happy.

Yosemite Trip 2006....or #5

I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since we got back from Yosemite. It's been "Go..Go..Go" since we got back, especially with the holiday/Shelby's B-day right after and the homeschooling conference/convention the following week. This is the first bit of "actual" time I've had to post something new on this thing since all the crazy busyness.

We had a great time at Yosemite, for those who were wondering or...for those that chickened out of the trip. bbah khaaaah!. We went with the Hahms and met a new family, Margaret and her kids and her brother Dave. It was a pleasuring being with them in God's country.

As we were driving back, Ed and I were reflecting on the trip and realized that we don't necessarily/only go back to Yosemite year after year, (it's been 5 so far), for the scenery and majesty of the place ( I'm not saying that it isn't a beautiful place and you're not in complete amazement and wonder at God's creation and beauty, because I am) but it's also for the opportunity for us, in a short amount of unbridled time, to purposefully and intently spend our lives with our friends.....our "family". I'm realizing that the fondest memories I have, have always included friends/family and spending time/taking trips with them. This is what makes a wonderful....unforgettable trip for me/us.

So.... thank you Jeanette, Peter, Brendon, Christian, Margaret, Dave, Harry and Katie for making this an enjoyable and unforgettable trip for us. It was our greatest pleasure to spend time with your families. We look forward to more times to come. Lake Powell? hint hint.

Hello? Yosemite Falls is behind you.

The Clan @ the base of Yosemite Falls.

After 5 years of waiting, I was finally able to go rafting with the kids. It's alot harder than it looked. The first few bends of the river were tough. Nicole was a great co-paddler. I'm sure she was a bit stressed with all my commands and yellings but once we were able to synchronize our paddling, it got much easier. At the very beginning, of the trip down the river, I barely escaped being thrashed by some fallen trees on the river bank. That was a close call. I didn't even have time to yell, "Duck!." I instinctively ducked and hoped they'd do it too. I think I might've even pushed through my kids to get ot the bottom of the raft. I'm such a good mom. Always thinking of here chit'lins first. (If you're wondering were the rest of the clan is...Ed stayed back with Aly because she didn't meet the weight requirement. =( Maybe next time.)

okay, what alyson said right now is so funny that i have to share.

i'm watching "last comic standing" right now and one of the girl comics, april macie, says her bit about how all guys should know that their wife, girl friend, fiance or whatever's best friend knows exactly how big their penis is. NOW, guess who walks by....alyson. (such perfect timing.) guess what my little baby girl says.

aly: "daddy's is big...."
me: i'm thinking and looking like, "what?"
aly: "daddy's weeny is big."
me: on the floor laughing.

i can't believe she understand what the comic was talking about. i guess learning all the "proper" body part names wasn't such a good idea. haaahaaahaaahaaa
